Infographic

I made an infographic in Adobe Illustrator. The topic I chose to illustrate was April the giraffe of Animal Adventure Park in the state of New York.

April gained a lot of attention towards the end of February. More than 40 million people have viewed the live stream of her enclosure. I chose this topic because I thought it was so interesting that people spent hours, even days, watching the live feeds, just waiting for April to give birth to her calf. Now a month later, she still hasn't given birth! To rub it in the face of April's attentive viewers, a giraffe at Denver Zoo sneakily gave birth to a calf named Dobby. Her pregnancy was a surprise to even the zookeepers as she is a 23 year old giraffe and was not expected to become pregnant!

My infographic just touches on some interesting facts surrounding April, the famous giraffe. I like how my infographic (or as I've come to refer to it, my infogiraffic) turned out. At first, I tried going with a more realistic image of a giraffe, but ultimately I decided to make it more cartoon-y instead.
